How times have changed over the years! Today,there are so many more great girl games available than just playing with Barbie or Cindy dolls, dressing up the paper dolls in different outfits and playing with pretend makeup.

From Bratz dolls and Nintendogs to a whole array of great girl games online, there is so much more choice for the female population. Girls need no longer feel that boys have all the great and interesting toy gadgets while there seems to be little choice for them.

I remember babysitting for family and friends when I was a teenager, and it was always the same activities or toys to play with each weekend. Television wasn’t much to scream about either. The girls would get bored of painting, playing board games and dressing up their dolls. Few homes had computers, so even if going online was an option, the likelihood of there being any great girl games to play online would have been very slim indeed.

Nowadays there are so many websites that girls can visit, and play dress up and fashion games, using a variety of television characters such as Little Miss Sunshine, Vanessa Hudgens, Hannah Montana and so many more. There are even websites where you can dress up celebrities.

There are also great girl games available online where girls can learn how to run a restaurant, manicure and hair games, cooking and decoration games. I have come across many that are avilable to play for free!.What more could a girl ask for? Offline, there is much more choice than there were years ago.

Many of the “girl power” characters we see on television are being transformed into dolls and board games, not to mention stationery materials such as pencil cases, writing paper and school bags. Nearly every toy and game possible has been created from Dora, Barbie, Polly Pocket to High School Musical and Twilight characters. You have cash registers, kitchens, dollhouses, ponies and vanity stations, not to mention Tamagotchi, rocking horses and ride-ons.

Gone are the days where the only great girl games available involved ironing boards, the kitchen sink and tea sets. Girls are now being encouraged to embrace their individuality and are no longer being stereotyped as being the one who takes part in the games that involve household chores while the boys always got to play with their cars.

One of the best ways to earn some money while having a lot of fun is babysitting. But sometimes it can also turn into a nightmare. It is a challenge to keep naughty kids under control. And life can also become hell if the kids are girls and you have no clue how to baby sit them as they are not the ones who would let you lie down without bothering you with something or the other. So if you are babysitting a girl then you got to keep them busy and have some fun with them. Here are a few ways in which you can do so.

The first game that you can play is the glam it up challenge. Girls love to dress up or for that matter dressing up their dolls. Give them a challenge to dress up the best or dress their dolls and you can say that you would be awarding prices in the form of some chocolates to the winner. But do remember don’t break any one particular persons heart. Let them decide who’s the best is and if they don’t come out with a consistent answers give all of them a price.

Then there are the all time favorite card and board games. Never underestimate them. They are the best tools when the kids start getting restless and tired. Just let the girls choose whichever game they want to play and you play along with them.

Since you are babysitting chances are that you might be having a meal with them. Ask them to come up with different ideas on what to make. If they can make anything then ask them to prepare that for you and let them know that you will give an ice-cream to whoever does it the best. If they are not old enough to cook ask them for ideas and if you are ordering food then do the same depending on their choice and not yours.

Interactive games like charades or what are those tunes are also good games to calm things down if they are in bed and ready to sleep. If by any chance you are watching TV then look for cartoon channels or music channels. Never get stuck with your sports channel as sports are something most little girls will not enjoy.
